March 5, 2018
Students from Sociology and Social Work classes, including the Intro. to SWK class (pictured here with SWK Faculty member, Suzie Welch) met with representatives from UMSL (Tchule Moore) & Fontbonne (Sharon Jackson.) Students received detailed information about earning a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and about the transfer process from Jefferson College. Carrie Greer (Jefferson College transfer specialist) and Nicole Bach (Associate Professor of Spanish) shared additional information to help our students prepare for their next two years as college students.

Social Work Advocacy Day - February 22, 2017
Students from the Introduction to Social Work, joined the Fontbonne University Social Work Policy class for a trip to Jefferson City on February, 22. During the trip students:
- Met Tamitha Overly Ague, Executive Director of NASW Missouri Chapter to learn more about policy and advocacy
- Heard from two NASW lobbyists
- Were introduced on the floor of the House of Representatives at the start of the session
- Met several Jefferson County representatives, including Becky Ruth, Senator Paul Wieland, Rob Vescovo, and Ben Harris
Jefferson College Social Work students unable to attend wrote letters to their Representatives in support of several bills.
