Do you play an instrument? Have you been wondering how you could get back into playing your instrument?
The Jefferson College Music Department is inviting experienced instrumentalists from both the college and the community to join the Concert Band for some great music-making and camaraderie.
Players are needed in the Concert Band for all sections including woodwinds (flute/piccolo, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, alto/tenor/baritone saxophone), brass (trumpet/cornet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, French horn, tuba), and percussion. The Concert Band is open to all college students, music majors and non-muisc majors, and experienced adult musicians. “I know there are many excellent musicians in the area and I invite them to join us for this college-community concert band experience,” said Director Elke Overton.
There is no cost to participate in the band unless a participant wants to receive college credit for the Concert Band course by completing the required admission forms and class enrollment. Regular class attendance at band rehearsal and participation in all Concert Band performances are required for those seeking college credit in the Concert Band. Regular attendance for all members is expected. The Concert Band performs two concerts each semester.
