This year the Vikings Basketball team will welcome six newcomers onto the team.  Including two guards and four forwards. Each bring a special attribute to the team that will help bring the Vikings to life this 2017- 2018 season.

Cheyenne Jordan
Jordan, 5’11 forward, will be joining the Vikings from North Tech High School as a transfer from St. Louis. Cheyenne won awards such as: Most Improved in basketball and volleyball in high school. Her perseverance will be a strong quality to help the Viking squad. Cheyenne can go up strong, rebound and even has a nice outside touch!

Dy'aire Adams
Adams a 5’7 guard from Shakers Heights High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio is a talented guard who can attack the rim and read the defense to find that open teammate. She shows tremendous versatility by being able to finish strong around the rim as well as shoot the 3.  

Shania Thornton
Shania a 5’7 guard from Jennings, Missouri helped lead the Warriors to a 9-1 record with 19.9 points per game scoring average. She made 22 3-pointers and is averaging 4.6 rebounds and 4 steals per contest. Shania was a member of the Varsity team all four years. During here four years at Jennings High School she was named MVP and awarded Best 3pt Shooter on her team. Thornton was a member of the All- Team Suburban Central Conference, and was named 1st team All-Conference all four years and name All- District team. She broke the scoring record collecting a total of 1,462 points. Shania also was honored awards such as best offensive player and player of the suburban central conference.  

Emily Vanhooser
Vanhooser will continue a successful career on the court and in the classroom, the 5’9 forward from Fort Zumwalt North High School in O’Fallon, Missouri was a key member of a Panther team that won 18 games this past season. A tough defensive player, VanHooser earned three varsity letters in the sport of basketball. She was also a member of the school's highly successful marching band program. In addition, VanHooser was the primary pitcher for the Panther softball team this past fall. Over the past four years VanHooser collected a total of 9 varsity letters at Fort Zumwalt North. She was a scholar-athlete. VanHooser was named a member of the GAC All-Conference Academic teams for both softball and basketball.

Morgan Wilborn
After taking a year off Wilborn is returning to the court! The 5’10 forward from Francis Howell in St. Charles, Missouri, was a two year All- Conference and two-year All- District player in her four years playing at Howell. During Wilborn’s Junior and Senior seasons, Francis Howell won 2 District Championships and made it to the final four in state to finished 4th

Tyla Bishop
Lastly, Bishop a versatile 5’9 guard, forward from Bellevue East High School in Bellevue, Nebraska will join the Vikings.  Tyla is a strong forward with tremendous skill around the basket. Her ability to advance the ball up the floor, post up and attack the rim will be a great addition to the Vikings team this season.
