Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS)

Jefferson College uses Blackboard for the delivery of its online courses. Students unfamiliar with the system are encouraged to explore Getting Started with Blackboard before classes begin. It is suggested students avoid using the Blackboard mobile app to submit assignments or participate in discussion boards, as the web version is more stable than the app.

Testing and Online Courses

Online students may be required to take high stakes exams in a secure environment where their identity can be verified. Most commonly, students come to the Hillsboro or Arnold campus for their final exams, but individual instructors may make other arrangements. Students should check their course syllabus carefully to ensure they are able to fulfill such location requirements.

Online Test Proctoring

Any student in need of online test proctoring must inform their instructor of their need. The student must secure a proctor, seek approval for the proctor from Testing Center Coordinator Connie Nash, and cover all expenses associated with retaining the proctor for the duration of the examination. Online Learning and Testing Center staff are not responsible for providing students with proctor contact information.
